VIRA POGGI (IERAPETRA)

On the western end of the promenade the last restaurant before the Venezian Fortification and the Port. Quality Greek kitchen with creative ideas and some good wine bottles. Very romantic if you find a table next to the sea waters. However, not ideal in a very windy evening

GORGONA (IERAPETRA)

 not the best place from an esthetical point of view, but the best source for good, fresh fish by far. If you love fish food then this is the place. But attention: ask for Manolis (the owner) and make him clear that you come from Mr Nikos (Villa Daniela) if you really want to have the best service.

ZORBAS (IERAPETRA)

On the eastern end of the promenade. The owners speak fluently German, French and English.

KAFENION KOUTOUSOS (VAINIA, IERAPETRA)

Our ‘insider tip’ : a very popular (under the locals) Kafenion in the Village of Vainia (2km to the north of Ierapetra). You experience the real local atmosphere and surroundings with excellent food at a ridiculous price ! Lefteris (the owner) is the real attraction, the showman, of the place. Do not expect the best service or the usual gastronomy rules and habits but you experience a real Greek ‘old fashion’ corner you will never forget. Nikos & Daniela live in the near of this Village and, of course, they know Lefteris very well. Please, do not go there without telling us first ! we have to…prepare the ground for you ! We are even volunteers to accompany you and spent the evening with you, if you do n’t mind !

KLEIO

On the beach 1km before entering the city of Ierapetra. A very good Greek tavern-reatsurant, clean and among the very few ones who follow strictly the COVID-protocol (!).

KIMERI

Just on the left side of crossroad where our street meets the National road). Good traditional greek food at avery good price. Dimitris, the owner, will do everything to help you especially when you tell him that you come from Mr Nikos of Villa Daniela. He serves breakfast after 08:30 !

PELAGOS

A prizewinning restaurant with a creative Greek kitchen based on the local products and parfums. Professional service, a very good wine cave together with a modern in lounge style frame demonstrate another level of the Greek kitchen. On the beach of Koutsounari (Long Beach) just 2km driving distance from Villa Daniela. A reservation is recommended.

PSAROPOULA

A typical Greek tavern very beatyfuly arranged on the beach of Koutsounari (Long Beach). Dimitris (the owner) can communicate in English and in German, as well. Here you can taste fresh fish and typical Greek specialities. Especially romantic in evenings with moonlight !

ALATSI

One of these places that no more exist ! Simple, romantic but very good and clearly defined dishes on the beach...Your feet stay on the sand, you can still hear the sea's waves and even at noon you can enjoy it thanks to the rich shadow of the Almirikia (these unique Cretan trees living on the beach).
